Philip Plisson's photo report : Massachusetts between sea and sky - First part : From Plymouth to BostonPhilip Plisson and his assistant Christophe Le Potier have flyed over the north american coast in helicopter in order to illustrate automn in New England. In 1602, Cape Cod was discovered by Gasnold, who caught so much codfish that he named the area Cape Cod. In 1620, the Mayflowers pilgrims arrived in Provincetown, at the end of Cape Cod. Tenacity, willpower and religious involvement close to hysteria (Salem 1692) were the keys of success of this settlement. Farming, whale fishing and overseas trade have helped the inhabitants to develop their prosperity.
