He is now back from Brazil. Enchanted. Dazzled even. "Marked for life" he admits, by the discovery of this country-continent and the jangadas, a symbol of a maritime culture still very much alive. Very much a part of the north-eastern coastal landscape, the jangadas were originally a rustic craft, made from logs and rope, with a flat bottom and a sail.
